In the year 2000 the SAPS STRIDERS ATHLETICS CLUB was accepted by KZN Athletics and was given their blessings to progress from strength to strength.
In 2000-03-29, Captain B.P. Reddy and Captain P. Singh held the clubs first meeting at the I.P.A. offices at the time was known as SAPS Rossburgh. The following members were in attendance:

The total membership at this time was 40. In 2004-01-01, Captain B.P. Reddy handed over the reins to Captain Singh who ran the club until 2006 with membership increasing more than 100% with a total of 85 members. In 2006 the club was then taken over by Major General Ngcobo and Lt. Col V.G. Naidoo. In 2009 the club hosted its first race which was a 15km and has since been growing ONE STEP AT A TIME.
